Baumschule D.J.Burmann

Our D.J. Burmann Tree Nursery is located just a stone’s throw from ‘Ammerland’, Germany’s leading tree nursery region.

The business was founded by Detert Johann Burmann, who, even early on, placed a strong focus on larger specimen trees. His son, Antonius Burmann, succeeded him in running the business and remained true to his father’s company philosophy. Under his auspices the cultivation area was extended to approximately 60 hectares and up-to-the-minute farming methods and innovative technology, such as hydraulic tree spades, were introduced in order to be able to offer customers perfect specimen trees of striking dimensions at all times.

Antonius Burmann passed away in 2002 and his brother Rembert took over the running of the business. On 1st January 2016 the third generation of the Burmann family – Rembert’s son Ralf – took over the reins. The plantation area has been further extended to over 70 hectares and, with modern methods and continual investments in new plant populations, we are constantly striving to continue the tradition of excellence – 100 years of green quality!
